In telling the story of the fans, we also tell  Bruce’s story and illustrate it’s profound impact in every day lives through the unique perspective and experience of his audience.  This is the story of how music changes lives and brings people together.

We focus on the fans because it is the best way to measure the impact of the artist.  Bruce Springsteen's music isn't just a collection of songs.  For his fans it's a way of life. A soundtrack that moves people to serve others.   The songs are a light on dark nights that spurs fans to explore their place in the world.  The concerts are a celebration of the songs and a meeting between Bruce and his fans. That’s what it means to be a fan, and Bruce’s fans have moments in their lives that are attached, even defined, by the songs and shows they have experienced. The devotion of this community is unlike any other, forming an unparalleled bond that transcends music. "Tramps Like Us” gives an opportunity to share what their journey with Bruce has meant

The Bruce Springsteen community is what makes this film a one of a kind story. "Tramps Like Us" isn't about Bruce Springsteen, the artist; it's about the millions of fans who have been deeply touched by his lyrics, energy, and the sense of belonging to the E Street Band. The film is an exploration of a one of a kind relationship between a musician and his fans.  This film will tell the stories of fans who have been profoundly impacted by the songs.  It will detail the birth of the global community that is the result  of those shared individual experiences, and it will shed light on the unique connection between the fans and Bruce, his band and his songs.
 

How Do You Tell Such A BIG STORY?

It might seem like a story that’s just too big to tell… but it is not.  This film will include EVERYONE that wants to tell their story.  We create an invitation to the entire fanbase to tell their story.  We meet them at and around the concerts this year and we do interviews that are really just conversations.  We then edit these conversations into a larger one.  We take all the interviews and weave them together into an inclusive international conversation that crosses generations.    For this film I would like to interview more than 100 fans in 2024 around Bruce’s shows.  I would like to visit several cities in the US, and some in Europe to meet the fans and give them the opportunity to tell their story.  The result will be an incredible historic documentary that does not just answer the  who, what, where and when about Springsteen’s fans… this film will illuminate the reasons behind the journey… it will reveal the how and why.  Like a time capsule, the film will live on for generations telling the story of the Bruce Springsteen fan experience.
